Chicago Bulls assistant coach Chris Fleming will not be disciplined for getting into an altercation with Utah Jazz forward John Collins on Tuesday.

While coaches typically try to defuse tensions between players, Fleming found himself battling with Collins following a crucial foul during their 119-117 win over Collins’ Jazz.
Despite the hubbub, Bulls head coach Billy Donovan released some encouraging news regarding one of his right-hand men.

Donovan addressed the situation in front of the media before the Bulls’ game Thursday night against the Golden State Warriors, according to Janie McCauley of the Associated Press.
“I couldn’t understand all the different camera angles on the situation, but I certainly think Chris was trying to deescalate the situation and that ultimately made the situation worse. That’s what’s unfortunate,” Donovan said. “But I think it’s a lesson for us in that we just have to worry about controlling our bench and our guys. … I certainly don’t think Chris’ intentions were ever physical.”

As ESPN released, players initially rallied around DeMar DeRozan after he was hacked by Jordan Clarkson and Collin Sexton on the inbounds pass with less than 10 seconds remaining.
Sexton then got into a verbal argument with Torrey Craig, which woke up players from both teams, including Collins.
Judging by the look of it, Fleming appeared to be trying to stop Collins from retaliating against Craig, but Collins moved his arm away, which started things up.

Nothing more and a few curses were exchanged. As a result, Fleming will not be fined or suspended by the league or the Bulls organization.
