After the test results were released, it was confirmed that the big man would miss at least a week due to his injury. As a result, Mobley joined Donovan MitchellTy Jerome, Dean Wade and Strus on the injured list Cavs players.

Before falling with a sprained ankle, Mobley averaged 15.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.6 blocks per game. He was also shooting 57 percent from the field, making him one of the effective offensive options for the Cavs.

Cleveland Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell could return first before Evan Mobley

Nearly a week has passed since Mobley was injured and there is no firm timetable for his return yet. But according to a tweet from Chris Fedor on XCavs fans may have to wait a little longer.

“Evan Mobley no longer has his walking boot. The team leaves tomorrow for its three-game road trip. But one source said we think Mobley’s return is further away than Donovan Mitchell’s,” Fedor said.

While removing the walking boot is a step toward his return, the fact that Mitchell returns first rather than Mobley only means his recovery is not going as planned. Even if a worst-case scenario occurs, an injury like this won’t sideline the rising star when the playoffs begin.

As for the Cavaliers, it seems that they will count on Jarrett Allen more to take the position in their place. Regardless, Cleveland fans are eagerly awaiting the big man’s return to boost their playoff performance in the coming weeks.
