THE The Cleveland Cavaliers They didn’t make a single free agent addition this summer, but they still have time to sign someone before training camp.

Tyler Watts from The Gospel of King James suggested what he sees as an obvious answer for the Cavaliers: Marcus Morris.

Cleveland claimed Morris last March. He ended up being a key contributor in the Cavs’ run to the playoffs, playing in 12 regular-season games and averaging 5.8 points per 15 minutes per night while shooting 44.1 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from three-point range.

Morris then averaged 6.1 points per game in nine playoff games.

The 34-year-old certainly isn’t the same prolific scorer he was a few years ago, but he remains a reliable backup and would absolutely help a team with players like the Cavaliers.

Not only would Morris be an offensive asset, but he is also a versatile defender, as his combination of size and skill allows him to effectively defend multiple positions.

Morris can slot in as a power forward off the bench, and he can also guard some of the Eastern Conference’s biggest forwards, such as Jayson Tatum and Paul George.

At this point in his career, Morris isn’t a very attractive player. That’s why he’s not signed until the end of August. However, there’s no doubt he can still produce, and with the number of free agents having dwindled to almost nothing, he’s one of the best options available.

On top of all that, Morris knows Cleveland well after spending time with the club last season.

We’ll see if the Cavs decide to make a move for Morris.
