LA Clippers fans know this as well as anyone. what an interesting speech about basketball The same can be said of the different eras of the NBA. Apparently, everyone has an opinion on the matter, and that doesn’t exclude Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.

Recently asked by the Wall Street Journal Edwards had a lot to say about the difference between his era and past eras. “I didn’t watch games back then, so I can’t speak to that,” he said. “They say it was tougher back then than it is now, but I don’t think anyone had that talent back then.” [Michael Jordan] was the only one who really had talent, you know what I mean? That’s why when they saw Kobe [Bryant]They were like, “Oh, my God.” But now, everyone has skills.

This is a bold and questionable statement from the youngster. To say that Michael Jordan was the only talented player of his generation is a bit of an exaggeration. Ant’s comments have sparked a lot of backlash from other members of the NBA community, including Clippers legend Jamal Crawford.

After requested by a fan on X Crawford weighed in on Edwards’ statement. “I love Ant,” he said. “I love everything about him. But there were way more talented players than Jordan lol.” Of course, that’s completely true. Michael Jordan being the best player of the 90s is not a criticism of his competitors.

Crawford continued: “On another note, we need to talk more about the culture of ‘this or that’, fuelled by media and social media. Today, in this era, people are questioning the legends and pioneers of the game. It’s one of the craziest things going on right now…”

This is a great way to continue the former Clippers point guard’s conversation, and I think Jamal hits the nail on the head. The current way to get attention is to criticize one player to build another, and to disrespect the legends who paved the way for today’s players. Frankly, it’s ridiculous.

No other major sport has its all-time greats routinely ignored like former NBA players. Clippers fans can be proud of Crawford for standing up for truth, the history of the game, and the greats of yesteryear, all of which true basketball fans should continue to value.
