THE Dallas Mavericks pulled away from a recent slump, as they earned their second straight victory with a 142-124 triumph Saturday night over the Detroit Pistons on the road. Granted, it was just against the lowly lottery-bound Pistons, what the hell Luka Doncic put into play was simply sensational. It was also historic.
Luka Doncic Breaking Russell Westbrook’s NBA triple-double record in Dallas Mavericks’ win over Pistons
Doncic led the way for the Dallas Mavericks with 39 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds in 37 minutes of floor play. He shot 13/24 from the field and hit four triples while adding three steals and two blocks. He had six turnovers but that can be forgiven, considering the totality of his damage on the Pistons.
According to Stat Muse, Doncic is the first player in NBA history to string together six straight games with a 30-point triple-double. In other words, Doncic is an awesome player.
“It shows what level he’s playing at right now,” the Dallas Mavericks head coach said. Jason Kidd said about Doncic after the game (h/t ESPN).
“He knows he can score the ball, and he’s also able to find his teammates and finally, he’s able to rebound the ball,” Kidd added.
Doncic is actually in a torrid situation. In his last six outings, he averaged 36.3 points, 11.0 rebounds and 11.5 assists. He also shot the ball very well in the same amount of time, knocking down 51.6 percent of his attempts from the field.
The Mavs are on the rise again
After losing three straight games in early March, the Dallas Mavericks have seemingly figured things out again, after losing three straight games in early March. defeated the Miami Heat and the Pistons consecutively.
