THE The Los Angeles Clippers finally get their new arena after sharing one with the Lakers since the turn of the century. The Intuit Dome is state-of-the-art, with a halo panel, phone chargers at every seat, T-shirt cannons in the rafters, and more. The Dallas Mavericks will be the first NBA team to visit the arena.

According to Marc Stein, the Clippers’ first home preseason game will be against the Mavs on October 14. Their first regular-season game will be against Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns on October 23. The arena will host a few concerts before each basketball game, starting with Bruno Mars’ back-to-back concerts this weekend.

The Mavs and Clips have a lot of history since the early 2020s with three separate first-round playoff series. LA came away with the wins in 2020 and 2021, despite otherworldly stats Luka Doncicbefore the Mavs qualify in 2024. It’s only fitting that the Intuit Dome opens against a playoff rival.

Dallas’ first-round victory over the Clippers last year led to PJ WashingtonThe “Standing on Business” pose, which has become a staple throughout the playoffs. Paul Georgewho is no longer with the Clippers after signing with the 76ers this offseason, tried to steal that pose during the series but it came back to haunt him after a bad Game 6.
