Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving (11) drives to the basket in front of Detroit Pistons guard Marcus Sasser (25) during the first half at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on Friday, October 20, 2023.

THE Detroit Pistons Saturday night bring one of the best shows in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks in town.

The Mavs are eighth in the Western Conference, which puts them in the play-in tournament, two games behind sixth-seeded Phoenix. MVP candidate Luka Doncic averaged a NBA leader with 34.6 points per game and is third in assists at 9.8. The 25-year-old is also in the top 20 in rebounds with nine. Kyrie Irving is averaging 25.6 points in his first full season with the Mavs, and Michigan alum Tim Hardaway Jr. adds 16.2 points coming off the bench.

Dallas added two pieces at the trade deadline: power forward PJ Washington (from Charlotte) and center Daniel Gafford (from Washington).
