Kevin Durant and Dennis Schröder have been trading barbs on X/Twitter since Team USA won the gold medal in France.

Durant suggested that American-born NBA players exude both talent and entertainment on the court in a dig at Schröder, implying that NBA basketball is just entertainment and that European basketball is more team-oriented.

Now the Brooklyn Nets The Social Team is promoting its current point guard, but is it subtly taking a swipe at its former franchise pillar?

At first glance, the tweet may seem innocent enough, but if you read between the lines, the troll work perhaps becomes a little more obvious.

Durant’s signature style included a beanie that he wore on the street, during pre- and post-game interviews, practices, and I’m sure if the NBA allowed it, he would wear it during games too!

With Schröder and Durant embroiled in a public feud, it seems odd, if perhaps intentional, to stir up a bit of drama.

The Nets are expected to be a lottery team this year, so during the dog days of the NBA offseason, it seems like the social team is doing just about anything for engagement.
