Having failed to meet the expectations of the Golden 1 Center crowd, the Kings of Sacramento also faced boos in addition to the resilience of San Antonio Spurs THURSDAY.

“We are at home. I don’t agree with that,” Domantas Sabonis noted while trying to ignore widespread disapproval of his camp’s efforts, “I understand that, but we are here fighting for our city. I just kind of let it slide.

The 27-year-old Lithuanian forward/center came up with a steal and quickly scored with 7.7 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. “I just hurried up and dunked him. I was afraid the guy would come from behind and try to argue,” he described the key play, leading to a victory at the top of a six-game homestand.

“Just to get this win, it’s awesome” he added after achieving a double-double of 31 points and 17 rebounds to go along with nine assists in 38 minutes, “It looked pretty ugly with a minute to go.”

This late rally improved the Mike Brown-coached team to 36-26 in the 2023-24 regular season. THE kings spending half a game outside the Western Conference spots leading to a direct playoff berth. Enjoying a safe distance from possible elimination, the final 20 outings are tied to a sprint toward the highest possible playoff seed.

Returning to action during the next edition of NBA Sundays, the Houston Rockets and hot Turkish center Alperen Sengun are the next visitors to the Golden 1 Center.
