It’s unfortunately true that injuries have played as big a role in Tyler Herro’s NBA career as his stunning run in the bubble, his Sixth Man of the Year campaign and his constant presence in trade rumors.

Last season, Herro missed 40 games with knee and foot injuries. In the 2023 playoffs, he missed nearly the Heat’s entire run to the Finals after breaking his hand in Game 1 of the playoffs.

Injuries have been such a part of Herro’s history that Pat Riley, at the end of the season, went so far as to call him “fragile.”

The fact is, it wasn’t a recurring injury or a lingering issue that led to this fragility. Unusual injuries with long recovery times sidelined Herro for stretches of his Miami Heat tenure.

Here are all the injuries that forced Herro to miss time throughout his career.

Right foot:Herro was sidelined with a right foot injury from Feb. 26 to April 4, resulting from a hyperextension suffered late in a Feb. 23 game in New Orleans.

Shoulder:Herro missed 18 consecutive games from Nov. 11 to Dec. 16 with a shoulder injury.

Right hand:Herro missed all but one of the Heat’s 2023 playoff games after breaking his right hand diving for a loose ball in the team’s playoff opener against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Achilles:Herro has missed three consecutive games during the 2023 season due to Achilles tendon soreness.

Right ankle:Herro missed eight straight games from Nov. 7-21, 2022, after rolling his right ankle.
