Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry

Donte DiVincenzo is one of the few NBA players to have played with both Giannis Antetokounmpo And Stephen Curry. THE New York Knicks the wing explained how the Milwaukee Bucks star and Warriors of the Golden State The stars look similar on the Feb. 29 episode of “Roommates Show.”

“Steph and Giannis obviously have a lot of differences in the way they play, but the similarity is in how they approach every day, and how they want to be the best in the NBA, and how they want to be the best person in your world. team,” said DiVincenzo, according to the Roommates Show YouTube channel.

DiVincenzo then explained how both of their work ethics stood out to him while he played with each of them.

” The gap between [Steph] and the next guy in terms of pure work is crazy, and I was only there for 12 months. Giannis, I spent four years with him and every day he was in the gym. Even on days when there are blackout days where no one is allowed into the gym, he is still there. So, I think you know it’s a credit to them for the time and effort they put in, and playing with them is so much fun. It’s like one of those things you can tell your kids after all the basketball is over.

DiVincenzo played in Milwaukee from 2018 to 2022, where he won a title in 2021. However, he only played in three games during their title run before suffers season-ending foot injury. DiVincenzo played at Golden State in the 2022-23 season.

The champion would take LeBron James rather than Giannis

Giannis Antetokounmpo could potentially win his third MVP award. Despite this, three-time NBA champion Udonis Haslem would still take LeBron James in his place at 29 years old.

On the March 5 episode of “The OGs” Haslem referenced what James did in Miami to explain his reasoning.

“That’s not knocking anything Giannis does, man, but what I’m saying is I use the skill set. I move away from what I see. I watched after we lost that playoff series to Dallas in the playoffs. I saw Bron walk into the m********* lab and come back the next summer the next year with shit I’ve never seen him do. I haven’t seen Giannis come back with any bullshit I haven’t seen yet. I am still waiting.”

James and the Heat lost to the Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals. Their loss inspired LeBron to improve his game, which led to two consecutive championships. Giannis also lost several playoff series in heartbreaking fashion before winning the title in 2021.

Doc Rivers compared Giannis to Michael Jordan

Bucks coach Doc Rivers has known since he played that voters get tired of voting for the same player and the same award every year. There is an argument that Michael Jordan didn’t win the MVP multiple times for this reason.

Rivers believes the same thing will happen to Giannis Antetokounmpo for this very reason. He even directly compared Jordan to Giannis.

“I don’t even want to get into it, but there are some guys that you’re tired of voting for,” Rivers told reporters. by Eric Nehm of The Athletic on March 2. “Michael is perhaps the poster child for that. And Giannis seems to be in that category where you’re so good that everything you do is taken for granted. When you look at his numbers, they are incredible, and yet you never hear his name. It’s amazing, but in some ways it’s more of a sign of respect than disrespect.

Antetokounmpo won two MVPs in 2019 and 2020. Since then, Nikola Jokic has won the award in back-to-back seasons, and then Joel Embiid won it in 2023. What could work in Antetokounmpo’s favor is that several years have since passed. he won the award for the last time.
