Isaiah Thomas is held in high esteem among Bomton of Celtics Boston fans have relied on his experience to help speed up Danny Ainge’s rebuild while helping Brad Stevens’ team compete at the highest level. Thomas has been a star during his two seasons in Boston. However, it hasn’t always been that way for the diminutive point guard.

Thomas began his career with the Sacramento Kings. He was selected with the 60th and final pick in the 2011 NBA draft. However, Thomas defied the odds and played in 65 games in his rookie season, starting 37 of them. He quickly developed on-court chemistry with big man DeMarcus Cousins. Thomas finished in the top seven in Rookie of the Year voting that season.

During a recent appearance on “The Knuckleheads” podcastThomas discussed the emotions he felt after falling to the end of the second round. He also discussed the mental hurdles of being passed over in the draft process and being the smallest player on the field.
