The Georgia Tech football team had a lot of good news this weekend and they continued to do so today.

Emmy Award-winning personality Ryan Cameron will become Georgia Tech’s public address announcer for all Georgia Tech home football games through the 2024 season, the athletic department announced Monday.

A highly regarded radio personality, voiceover artist, host and entrepreneur, Cameron is also a member of the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame and the National Black Radio Hall of Fame. A Georgia native, Cameron was the first African-American announcer for the Atlanta Hawks and currently serves as the announcer for the Atlanta Falcons. A recognized voice in Atlanta, Cameron recently became the official voice of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

With a career spanning over 25 years in the entertainment industry, Cameron is a founding partner of Threaded Agency, a global sports brand management company. He is also the host of the afternoon radio show WAMJ MAJIC 107.5/97.5 and has added producer and director roles to his resume with several television shows on TV One. As a way to give back to the city of Atlanta, Cameron founded the Ryan Cameron Foundation (RCF) in 2002 to help guide underserved youth through the complex transition to adulthood.

Yellow Jackets fans will hear Cameron for the first time at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field on Aug. 31, when Georgia Tech takes on in-state rival Georgia State. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on the ACC Network.

College football is back and the season got off to a flying start on Saturday. Georgia Tech and Florida State kicked off the new season in Dublin, Ireland, and the Yellow Jackets found a way to pull off a 24-21 victory on a last-second field goal. Georgia Tech was the center of attention in this game, and many people shared their reactions to the Yellow Jackets’ win, one of them being Hawks star Trae Young.
