Former Miami Heat star Chris Bosh is finally at peace after the untimely end of his basketball career.
In 2015, Bosh was diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs. This eventually led to his retirement. He spoke with BasketNews after playing in his former Heat teammate Goran Dragic’s farewell game.
“It was very tough,” Bosh said. “To be honest, it was the end of my career.”
“Anytime you deal with loss, death, or things like that, you go through a grieving process. I had to do that for a few years,” he admitted. “I got through it. I think it made me stronger. It allowed me to focus more on being a father.”
Although he ended his basketball career prematurely, Chris Bosh has no regrets about his NBA career.

Bosh was diagnosed just a year after helping the Heat win two championships in four NBA Finals appearances from 2010 to 2014. He was part of the Big Three that also included LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
Despite the premature end of his playing career, Bosh was still inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021. He became an All-Star during his seven seasons with the Toronto Raptors before joining the Heat. The Heat also retired his jersey.
“I have none,” Bosh said. “Yeah, I have no regrets.”
“Everything went well. I won a few championships. I met great people, I had great teammates, great stories, great locker rooms. I’m a lucky guy.”
