Ancient The Philadelphia 76ers big man Paul Reed has been questioned throughout his brief NBA career. The No. 58 pick in the 2020 draft has had to fight and earn everything he’s gotten so far in the league and will have to do so again in his new home with the Detroit Pistons.
In four seasons with the Sixers, Reed averaged 5.1 points and 4.2 rebounds. He improved in the 2023-24 season, averaging 7.3 points and 6.0 rebounds while playing in all 82 games and serving as the primary backup for Joel EmbiidHe started 24 games when Embiid was out with a two-month left meniscus injury.
As Reed prepares for his first opportunity with the Pistons, he took to Twitter to send a message to those who continue to doubt him.
Reed’s motto has always been “get out of the mud,” meaning he’s had to earn everything he’s gotten. He had to do that with the Sixers and you’d have to believe he’ll do the same with a bigger opportunity with the rebuilding Pistons.
