G League Stockton Kings guard Jaylen Nowell has been suspended one game without pay for directing inappropriate language toward a game official.

G League President Shareef Abdur-Rahim announced the suspension Monday. Nowell was penalized for a technical foul and ejected after making inappropriate comments to an official late in the second quarter during Stockton’s 112-111 victory over the Rio Grande Vipers Friday at Adventist Health Arena of Stockton.

Nowell will serve his suspension when Stockton hosts the Capitanes de Mexico on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. The Stockton Kings are the G League affiliate of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, who will face the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Golden 1 Center.

Sacramento signed Nowell during training camp and released him later in October. He remained with the organization after agreeing to sign with G League Stockton.
