Gregg Popovich continues to progress for the reason that stroke he suffered on November 2 and the San Antonio Spurs are hoping he’ll return to his position as head coach. Popovich has been the top coach of the Spurs since 1996.
Mitch Johnson coached the Spurs on an interim foundation in Popovich’s absence. Johnson has been with the Spurs since 2018 and is a candidate for different head teaching positions.
Popovich will flip 76 in January.
