Memphis Grizzlies fans surely remember what happened that night.
Ja Morant stood in the huddle for the final seconds of a tie at New Orleans in his first performance back from a 25-game suspension.
He began to make a plan.
“Ja came up to me and asked if we wanted to do a spot for Jaren (Jackson Jr.),” Grizzlies teammate Desmond Bane said of the final timeout of that game in December.
“I said, ‘No, we’re about to give you the ball.'”
What followed, a spinning layup for the game-winning shot from the superstar point guard, was pure magic. It sent Memphis into euphoria.
You remember that, don’t you? That’s how the Grizzlies were back.
Well, until they aren’t.
