The Detroit Pistons unveiled their 2024-25 regular season schedule on Thursday.

The team, coming off its worst season ever, will open the new season at home against the Indiana Pacers on Oct. 23 at Little Caesars Arena.

The Pistons will be in contention from the start, with six games against last season’s playoff teams, including Oct. 26 against the defending champion Boston Celtics at the LCA.

The NBA’s second annual tournament, now called the Emirates NBA Cup, will return this season. Each team will play four group games (two home, two away), which will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays from November 12 to December 3.

In the group stage, the Pistons will host the Miami HEAT on Nov. 12 and the Milwaukee Bucks on Dec. 3 at Little Caesars Arena. Eight teams will advance from the group stage to the knockout stages, which will consist of single-elimination games in the quarterfinals (played in NBA teams’ markets on Tuesday, Dec. 10 and Wednesday, Dec. 11), semifinals and championship games (played in Las Vegas on Dec. 14 and 17, respectively).

The Pistons are scheduled to be televised three times during the regular season. ESPN will televise the team’s home game against Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers on Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. NBA TV will televise a home game against the Charlotte Hornets on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. and a road game against the Utah Jazz on March 3 at 9:30 p.m. A complete schedule of local radio and television broadcasts of Pistons games will be released at a later date.
