THE Houston Rockets are enjoying their second six-game winning streak of the season. Tonight they host the Chicago Bulls at the Toyota Center with a chance for a seventh straight victory and continue to close the gap between them and the Warriors of the Golden State And the Los Angeles Lakers. Again, no one would bet on the Rockets without Alperen Sengun to catch either of these teams, but having meaningful games in March is something new for this iteration of the team. There’s no substitute for playoff basketball, but getting a taste of it this season will undoubtedly help next year.
The Bulls are somehow settled into the Eastern Conference play-in tournament. They are five losses behind the sixth seed (Philadelphia, who could soon get Joel Embiid back) and eight losses in the loss column from the 11th place team, the Brooklyn nets.
Jalen Green’s speech is getting louder and louder. Tonight there’s another test against a host of guards who can also score with the best of them, DeMar DeRozan, Coby White (if he plays). and Ayo Dosunmu (some good games lately).
