What there is to know
The Pistons and Raptors have been tied 5-5 since March 2021, but not for long. The Detroit Pistons will stay home for one more game and host the Toronto Raptors at 7 p.m. ET on March 13 at Little Caesars Arena. The Pistons will strut after a win while the Raptors will stumble after a loss.
Last Monday, Detroit cruised past the Hornets with points to spare, winning the game 114-97. For those curious, yes, this is the biggest win the Pistons have had all season.
Meanwhile, the Raptors’ recent rough patch got a little tougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a 125-119 hit in the loss column at the hands of Denver. The loss came despite the Raptors being up 22 in the second quarter.
Despite their loss, the Raptors saw several players rise to the challenge and make remarkable plays. RJ Barrett, who nearly dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine assists, was perhaps the best of all.
Detroit’s victory improved their record to 11-53. As for Toronto, they’ve been on a rocky road recently after losing six of their last seven games, which took a major dent in their 23-42 record this season.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, the Pistons are the favorites, as experts expect them to win by 3.5 points. For those looking to play the spread, keep Detroit’s opponent in mind: they are a solid 8-2 ATS against the Raptors in their last ten matchups.
The Pistons bypassed the Raptors 129-127 in their previous matchup in December 2023. Do the Pistons have another win up their sleeve, or will the Raptors turn things around? We’ll have the answer soon enough.
