What there is to know
The Pacers and Lakers have been tied 5-5 since February 2019, but not for long. The Indiana Pacers’ road trip will continue as they take on the Los Angeles Lakers at 10 p.m. ET on March 24 at Crypto.com Arena. The Pacers pulled off a surprise victory in their last outing and will hope to achieve it once again against the 3.5-point favorite Lakers.
We saw a pretty high 242 over/under line for the Pacers’ previous game, but the actual score was more down-to-earth. They won Friday against Golden State by a score of 123-111. The Pacers trailed 60-48 with 6:02 left in the second quarter, but they still came back for a handy 12-point victory.
Pascal Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton were among the key playmakers for the Pacers as the former had a double-double with 25 points and 16 rebounds and the latter had a double-double with 26 points and 11 assists.
Even though the Lakers haven’t done well against the 76ers recently (they were 1-9 in their previous ten meetings), they didn’t let the past get in their way Friday. Los Angeles came away with a 101-94 victory over the 76ers. This victory made it two consecutive victories for the Lakers.
Anthony Davis was as usual, with a double-double with 23 points and 19 rebounds.
Indiana pushed its record to 40-31 with the win, which was its fifth straight on the road. As for Los Angeles, their victory improved their record to 38-32.
Fans are set to witness an exciting match on Sunday as both men are currently among the most successful teams in the league. The Pacers have had no problem running up the score this season, averaging 122.8 points per game (they are ranked first overall). However, it’s not like the Lakers struggled in that department as they averaged 117.2 points per game. With both teams so easily able to rack up points, the only question that remains is who can run up the score.
The Pacers fell well behind the Lakers in their previous game in December 2023, losing 123-109. A big factor in the loss was the dominant performance of Davis, who had a double-double with 41 points and 20 rebounds. Now that the Pacers know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There’s only one way to find out.
