The Charlotte Hornets will hit the road to face the Memphis Grizzlies at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday at FedExForum. The Hornets are no doubt hoping to end a five-game losing streak on the road.
The Hornets traveled a rocky road last season, and unfortunately for them, the road didn’t get any smoother. They suffered a 114-97 loss to Detroit on Monday. This loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Pistons: they have now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, winning is a little easier when you outscore your opponent 17-4 on the offensive boards, a fact the Grizzlies proved on Tuesday. They came away with a 109-97 victory over Washington. This win was exactly what the Grizzlies needed after a 124-93 loss in their previous game.
Charlotte hasn’t been very good recently as the team has lost seven of its last eight games, which significantly dented its 16-49 record this season. As for Memphis, their victory ended a five-game home drought and moved them to 23-43.
Looking ahead, the Hornets should win a close contest, except for the buzzers. This will be the first time they play as road favorites this season.
The Hornets beat the Grizzlies 115-106 in the teams’ last game in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won’t have home-court advantage this time around. We’ll see if the change of location makes a difference.
