What there is to know
The Bucks will play the full four quarters on Thursday, but they should have things finished well before that. After playing yesterday, they will return immediately and host the Brooklyn Nets at 8 p.m. ET on March 21 at Fiserv Forum. The timing is certainly in the Bucks’ favor as the team has four straight home wins while the Nets haven’t had much luck away, with three straight away defeats.
The Bucks suffered their closest defeat since November 9, 2023 on Wednesday. They fell just ahead of Boston by a score of 122-119. The close contest was even more heartbreaking for the Bucks, who nearly overcame a 21-point deficit.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Damian Lillard, who went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 6 assists. He continues to roll, beating his previous point total in each of the last three games he has played.
Meanwhile, it’s hard to win when you don’t work as a team and post ten fewer assists than your opponent, a fact the Nets found out the hard way on Tuesday. They took a 104-91 hit in the loss column against New Orleans.
Unsurprisingly, given the score, the Nets struggled to work together and finished the game with just 19 assists. They are winless (0-6) when they don’t pass the ball.
Milwaukee’s loss dropped its record to 44-25. As for Brooklyn, they’ve been on a rocky road recently after losing six of their last seven games, which took a major dent in their 26-43 record this season.
This competition is shaping up to be a blast: the Bucks simply can’t miss this season, shooting 49.1% per game. It’s a different story for the Nets, as they’ve made just 45.8 percent of their shots this season. Given the Bucks’ considerable advantage in this area, the Nets will need to find a way to close this gap.
