The Hawks are on the road but don’t look any worse. They took an 83-78 lead against the Knicks.
The Hawks came into the game with extra motivation after the loss they suffered the last time these two teams met. We’ll see if they are able to flip the script or if it will just be more of the same.

What there is to know
Two dominant guards, Jalen Brunson and Trae Young, prepare to face off. The New York Knicks will play at home against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden. After coming off a win as an underdog, the Knicks will enter this one as favorites.
Defenses reigned supreme when the Knicks and Cavaliers played Sunday, rewarding bettors who took the risk on the low of 208.5 points over/under. New York won against the Cavaliers by a score of 107-98.
The Knicks can attribute much of their success to Josh Hart, who had a triple-double with 13 points, 19 rebounds and ten assists, and Donte DiVincenzo, who scored 28 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Hart hasn’t dropped below ten rebounds in three straight games.
Meanwhile, the point spread may have favored the Hawks last Saturday, but the final result didn’t. They fell 114-102 to Brooklyn. The Hawks took an early lead (up by 13 with 1:47 left in the first quarter), but unfortunately, they were unable to maintain that momentum.
New York’s victory improved its record to 36-25. As for Atlanta, its loss was its third in a row on the road, which dropped its record to 26-34.
In this competition, the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: the Knicks haven’t given up the ball easily this season, averaging just 12.3 turnovers per game. However, it’s not like the Hawks struggled in that department as they averaged just 12.6 turnovers per game. Given these competing forces, it will be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
The Knicks prevailed in a close game against the Hawks in the teams’ last game in November 2023, outscoring 116-114. Will the Knicks repeat their success, or will the Hawks have a better game plan this time around? We’ll know soon enough.
