What there is to know
The Magic will play the full four quarters on Sunday, but things are expected to be over well before that. They will play at home against the Detroit Pistons at 6 p.m. ET at the Kia Center. The Magic will strut after a win while the Pistons will stumble after a loss.
Even though the Magic haven’t done well against the Jazz recently (they were 2-8 in their previous ten meetings), they didn’t let the past get in their way on Thursday. Orlando came away with a 115-107 victory over the Jazz. The win made it two straight wins for the Magic.
The Magic can attribute much of their success to Paolo Banchero, who nearly had a double-double with 29 points and nine rebounds. Banchero didn’t help the Magic’s cause much against the Pistons last Saturday, but the same can’t be said for this game.
Meanwhile, the Pistons traveled a rocky road last season, and unfortunately for them, the road didn’t get any smoother. They suffered a 110-100 loss in the loss column to Cleveland on Friday. The Pistons have struggled recently against the Cavaliers, with their game on Friday being their ninth straight loss.
Orlando has been on a roll lately, winning five of their last six games, improving to 34-26 this season. As for Detroit, they reduced their record to 9-50 with this defeat, which was their fourth in a row at home.
The Magic bypassed the Pistons 112-109 in the teams’ last game last Saturday. Do the Magic have another win up their sleeve, or will the Pistons turn things around? We’ll have the answer soon enough.
