Ice Cube has become a prominent figure within the world of professional basketball. The former NWA star turned actor has seen his BIG 3 league consistently rise in popularity despite some roadblocks when working with professional basketball leagues worldwide. The most recent instance of this was when FIBA reportedly blocked the Netherlands’ Olympic three-on-three champions from facing off against the BIG 3 champions.
Despite the BIG 3 league having a significant presence in Boston, Ice Cube is still a Los Angeles native and a big Los Angeles Lakers fan. As such, he can recall some of the slobber knockers between these two teams throughout the 80s, 90s and early 2000s.
During a recent episode of the “Cedric Maxwell Podcast” Ice Cube joined Maxwell and Josue Pavon to discuss the BIG 3 and his memories of the Celtics/Lakers rivalry. He noted how both teams consistently bring out the best in each other, despite the fanbases holding a great disdain for one another.
