INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Mad Ants, the G League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers, announced their schedule for the 2024-25 season on Tuesday.
For the second year in a row, the Mad Ants will play their home games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. That’s where the Pacers play, which is a huge advantage for the G League club. They’ll also get to share a practice facility. It’s a great facility, but it’s only temporary while the team’s new arena is built. in Noblesville.
The Mad Ants, led by head coach Tom Hankins, will open the season on the road on November 9. They will face the Cleveland Charge the following Saturday and again the following Sunday. Their first home game will be that week, on November 15, when the Iowa Wolves come to town.
As in previous years, the season is split into two halves. The first half, now called the Tip-Off Tournament instead of the Showcase Cup, will last 16 matches. The first 14 are already scheduled and the last two will be played between December 19 and 22, with opponents determined by the standings of the first 14 matches. Mad Ants lost Showcase Cup title game last year.
Once the kickoff tournament is over, the G League will resume with a 34-game regular season. Indiana will open that portion of the campaign on Dec. 27 at home against the Salt Lake City Stars. Their season will conclude on March 29 in Grand Rapids.
The Mad Ants have reached the playoffs for two consecutive seasons, but they have lost in the first round each time. Their full schedule can be found here.
