A bill is currently before the state Legislature that would extend alcohol service to VIPs at the Intuit Dome until 4 a.m.

The state Senate passed AB 3206 this week to allow VIP suite holders Intuit Dome, home of the Los Angeles Clippersalcohol service until 4 a.m. The bill is now sent to the Assembly.

Clippers owner Seve Ballmer is the driving force behind the bill, as his company, Murphy’s Bowl, sponsored AB 3206.

The new 17,700-seat Inglewood venue houses five basketball courts, a training and coaching facility, an outdoor plaza with two bars, a restaurant, a team store and VIP suites.

The bill proposed by the Assembly only targets the Intuit Dome. It specifies that extended-hours alcohol sales “take place in a private area of the arena, not exceeding 2,500 square feet, within the hours immediately following a day on which a sporting event, concert or other major event, or a private event not open to the public, has taken place in the arena, as specified.”

The bill provides for an end date of January 1, 2030, for the proposed extended hours alcohol service.

Currently, California alcohol laws allow the sale and purchase of alcohol between 6 a.m. and 2 a.m. daily.
