Jayson Tatum has faced constant criticism from the media in recent months, despite his help Boston Celtics Tatum won the 2024 NBA championship. His struggles to shoot from the perimeter have been a recurring topic of discussion. However, the criticism reached a fever pitch when Steve Kerr chose to bench Tatum for Team USA’s two games against Serbia at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
While some of the criticism is justified, Tatum has certainly gotten more than he deserves. He remains one of the most complete basketball players in the world and a top-10 talent in the NBA. Over the past two years, he has improved his playmaking, rebounding, and defensive assists while being named to three consecutive All-NBA First Teams.
