The Celtics will open the 2024-25 NBA season against the New York Knicks on Oct. 22 at TD Garden, and Jaylen Brown is ready to defend Boston’s title.
“Last year is over, to be honest. We celebrated, we had a great time, it was a great summer. I had a great summer, by the way,” Brown told NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole on the network’s Twitter account. “Dubbing lyrics” podcast. “But it’s over, now we have to get back to work.”
Brown recently shared photos of her underwearHe shared the latest results from his training program on his Instagram account, showing how focused the reigning Finals MVP is on the upcoming season. He understands that opposing teams will be looking to dethrone the Celtics and he welcomes the challenge.
“We’ve got the target on our backs now,” Brown said. “Everybody’s trying to come after us, and I’m like, ‘Go for it.’ So I’m getting back to work and looking forward to next season.”
The 2017 and 2018 Golden State Warriors were the last teams to win the NBA championship again. Boston’s key players who won the title in the 2023-24 season are back, giving the Celtics the best chance to do it again.
Brown and Jayson Tatum may have extra motivation to help the Celtics win a second straight title – Brown was excluded from the US Olympic teamand head coach Steve Kerr Tatum benched in Team USA’s two games against Serbia in its gold medal run. The Celtics will host Kerr’s Warriors on Nov. 6 at TD Garden.
The C’s will face the Mavericks in Dallas on Jan. 25 and Boston on Feb. 6 for a rematch of the Finals. Dallas head coach Jason Kidd double on Brown being Boston’s ‘best player’ when he appeared on the same “Dubs Talk” podcast before the Celtics star.
