As the 2024-25 NBA season approaches, the Utah Jazz are among the league’s key names with promising young talent who could see significant development in what could be another rebuilding year in Salt Lake City.
In just three summers of rebuilding, the Jazz have yet to land a future top-tier superstar at the top of the draft. Still, several young pieces have been gradually added to the roster and should continue to evolve as vital pieces of Utah’s future success.
Among their group of young players, one name that could stand out from the rest for next season could be their sophomore guard Keyonte George, who has recently received significant praise. ESPN latest NBA rankings.
In ESPN In the latest rankings of the “most interesting” sophomores, Keyonte George found himself at the heart of the names to watch, coming in at No. 8. ESPN Writer Jeremy Woo has tapped into his potential to elevate himself into his role as the lead signal caller, which could potentially lead to a major leap forward in development.
There is optimism about George’s progression, bolstered by his strong performance in Summer League in July: His long-term potential lies in his improved physical fitness. The Jazz are hoping George can continue to grow in the role, and he has always been considered a scoring prospect around the league, but he still faces a steep learning curve… George has a nice window this season to take a step forward in his development.

George didn’t quite crack the top of the rankings, as that honor was held by players like Victor Wembanyama, Amen Thompson and Chet Holmgren rounding out the top three, but it’s clear that the Jazz guard still stands out as one of the most notable young guards to watch in the league for 2024.
George had a productive start to his last season in Utah, averaging 13.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists on 39.1 percent shooting and 33.4 percent from three-point range. He still has room to grow in his shooting and playmaking abilities, but there’s still potential to be tapped, especially when the Jazz put a little more emphasis on the youth movement next season.
One of the glaring issues the Jazz faced last season was ball security and the lack of a primary point guard. As George continues to develop into the primary leader of this backcourt, he can help alleviate some of Utah’s offensive shortcomings.
Expect big things from Keyonte George during the 2024-25 NBA season.
