The late great Los Angeles Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss had six children, some of whom took over the team after his death in 2013.

Although team governor Jeanie Buss now runs the organization, with siblings Joey and Jesse also holding leading roles in basketball operations, Johnny is the oldest in the team. group, at 67 years old.

Johnny previously served as president of the Los Angeles Lazers indoor football franchise and president of the LA Sparks until 2006. But now it seems he has bigger aspirations. Johnny created the site buss2024.com to announce that he is running for President of the United States with the slogan “Buss for America 2024” and the following statement:

“I imagine an America that leads with compassion, innovation and above all, integrity. An America where racial equity is not just an ideal, but a reality experienced by every citizen. Where our policies reflect our commitment to the planet and where education opens the doors to a bright and promising future.

Buss is running as an independent and began his candidacy in late January, according to Dan Woike of the LA Times:

According to campaign documents, Johnny Buss filed his candidacy on January 30. According to government records, he spent $118,026.66, including $1,500 on hair styling fees and $36,560 on a film production company.

Johnny Buss is currently not involved with the Lakers organization, so he clearly has a lot of free time, which he is choosing to use for a presidential campaign.

Although Johnny certainly won’t find himself moving into the White House in a few months, he is clearly passionate about a political career and believes himself capable of taking on important roles.

It’s just another day in Lakerland, but for now the team is focused on finding a way to sneak into the playoffs and warm up in true last year’s fashion.

Anthony Davis expresses frustration after recent Lakers loss

One team that has worn the Lakers’ number this season is the Sacramento Kings, beating them all four times. After the last defeat, Anthony Davis was one of the those to express their frustration with the team’s inability to beat their division rivals who play in the California state capital.

Similar to Johnny Buss, the Lakers will have no chance of success this year if they don’t figure out a few things on both ends of the court.
