Julius Randle became eligible to sign a contract extension in early August. However, neither the veteran forward nor the New York Knicks appear to be in a rush to sign an extension.
However, Randle is excited about the Knicks’ additions this offseason. The 29-year-old believes the team can become special after Mikal Bridges arrived in a trade this summer.
Randle has two years remaining on the four-year extension he signed with New York in 2021. Randle could sign a three-year extension with the Knicks before the start of the season if he picks up his player option for 2025-26. If Randle declines that option, he could sign a four-year extension through June 30.
Since joining New York in 2019, Randle has been a three-time All-Star. He was named Most Improved Player in the 2020-21 season. Randle also made the All-NBA teams in 2021 and 2023.
