It’s not just San Antonio Spurs fans who are worried about the new season.
SAN ANTONIO — It’s not just San Antonio Spurs fans who are anxious about the new season. Forward Keldon Johnson is too, and he wants to celebrate with you.
Johnson is hosting a “Season Kickoff Celebration” party in San Antonio on Thursday, October 10, and you’re invited.
The event will take place at Top Golf, 5539 North Loop 1604 West, 78249. To reserve your spot, call 804-433-0048.
This won’t be Johnson’s first time hosting the event.
Last season, he met with fans to celebrate the new season. Perhaps he will answer questions about keeping the No. 3 jersey with the arrival of Chris Paul, or fans will be able to ask him what his expectations are for the new season.
Johnson has been busy giving back to the San Antonio community this offseason.
Since joining the team, he has hosted basketball camps for kids in San Antonio and Laredo, Texas, participated in a “Back 2 School” backpack drive and done a lot for the city.
“For me, giving back to the city of San Antonio is essential,” Johnson said. “Since I was a rookie, San Antonio has always welcomed me with open arms along with the fans and the San Antonio Spurs fan base.”
Outside of basketball camps, he supports local businesses and is present during the holidays.
He partnered with Beldon Roofing Company, which organizes vital community events in San Antonio, such as last Thanksgiving’s Turkey Drive, where 300 turkeys were given away to local families, and the Christmas Toy Drive, “Cheerful Slam Jam,” where free toys were given away to 400 children on San Antonio’s Eastside.
