This video, posted by KENS5’s Jeff Garcia, shows that Keldon Johnson still has the number 3 on his jersey.
In the eleven-second video clip, Keldon can be heard saying: “I’ll definitely be No. 3 next year.”
Which means that for the first time in his NBA career, Chris Paul will not wear jersey No. 3.
What number should Chris Paul wear?
#7, because this is his seventh team. David Duke, Jr. returns to the Spurs and wore number 7 last year.
Maybe #12 to represent his All-Star appearances. But #12 belonged to Bruce Bowen and was retired. Bowen allowed it to be taken out of retirement for LaMarcus Aldridge. I doubt he’d be that polite when it comes to a relief request.
#2 for his two Olympic gold medals. Maybe it would be a good time for Spurs fans to move on from our last #2.
#5 to represent the five times he led the league in assists. That number has been available since Dejounte left town.
#75 for his addition to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
Keep it up.
If Keldon keeps number 3, what will happen to CP3?
