The 2024 Team USA The men’s basketball team had an incredible run at the 2024 Olympics. Team USA beats France for a gold medal and earned marks not seen since 1996. Two key players on the coveted 2024 team were Phoenix Suns Before Kevin Durant And Minnesota Timberwolves Guard Anthony Edwards. Durant and Edwards share a special respect for each other, but the Suns star had some fun when he revealed why Edwards is the funniest player in America.
Jalen Rose asked Kevin Durant about his experience with his Olympic teammates and who the team prankster was. did not hesitate to emphasize Anthony Edwards’ antics:
“It was fun. We always talked about the season. Ant was probably the biggest joker in the locker room. He had all the funny expressions that we picked up on… that Atlanta slang came back in full force in the locker room. We had a great time, man. We talked about everything,” Durant said, via the conference room on YouTube.
It’s not hard to believe that Edwards was the team’s comic relief. When the Timberwolves beat the Denver Nuggets in Game 7 of the 2024 Western Conference Semifinals, Edwards made a hilarious remark to TNT commentator and former Suns star Charles Barkley.
Barkley mentioned that he hadn’t been to Minnesota in nearly 20 years, and before he could finish his sentence, Edwards exclaimed, “Get the f**k out here!”
The exchange went viral and added a gem to Edwards’ portfolio of hilarious moments. Now that his time with Team USA is over, Edwards wants to take the next step with the Timberwolves.

Minnesota had their best playoff run in years, beating the Nuggets and advancing to the Western Conference Finals. Edwards was in control of that series, averaging 27.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.5 steals, while shooting 40.0 percent from three-point range. Unfortunately, Edwards and the T-Wolves lost in five games to Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, ending their run just short of the Finals.
Still, Minnesota retains many of its top players from the 2023-24 season and looks to have another strong run in 2024-25. In addition to Edwards, the T-Wolves have reigning Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns, Jaden McDaniels and Mike Conley.
The Timberwolves’ experience in 2024 will serve them well against other up-and-coming teams in the West. Plus, with Edwards coming off an Olympic experience, the T-Wolves have an even bigger advantage. It will be exciting to see how they perform with high expectations in the upcoming season.
