Alas, the time has come for basketball fans.

The Kings program for the 2024-25 NBA season The schedule was officially released by the league on Thursday, along with game dates, times and television information.

Sacramento will open the new season at home against Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 24 at Golden 1 Center.

Of the 82 regular season games, 79 will be broadcast on NBC Sports California. The Kings have six nationally televised games.

The defending NBA champion Boston Celtics will make their only visit to Sacramento on March 24.

Additionally, former Kings forward Harrison Barnes, who was sent to the San Antonio Spurs this summer in a sign-and-trade deal that brought DeMar DeRozan to Sacramentowill return to the 916 with his new team on December 1st.

For his part, DeRozan, who spent the last three seasons with the Bulls, will face his former team on January 12, when the Kings are in Chicago. Two months later, the Kings will host the Bulls in Sacramento on March 20.

Before all that, Kings fans will be able to watch their favorite team engage in some preseason action when they host the Golden State Warriors on Oct. 9 at the G1C before packing their bags and heading 80 miles southwest across the Bay Area to take on their Northern California neighbors on home turf on Oct. 13.

They will then host the Portland Trail Blazers on October 13 before concluding the preseason on the road against the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Other games of note include Sacramento’s Group A West matchup in the 2024 NBA Cup. Like the regular season, the Kings will open the tournament against the Timberwolves on Nov. 15 at Golden 1 Center.

The next two NBA Cup games will be away against the Clippers on Nov. 22 and the Trail Blazers on Nov. 29 before concluding with a group-stage game against the Houston Rockets on Dec. 3 at home in Sacramento. All four tournament games are scheduled to air on NBC Sports California.

After ending a 16-year playoff drought just two seasons ago, the Kings are hoping to return to the postseason after narrowly falling short of a best-of-seven series last year.
