After suffering a knee injury Knicks win 108-97 against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, Jalen Brunson would be listed as doubtful before tonight’s game against the Atlanta Hawksaccording to Ian Begley of SNY.
Jalen Brunson suffered a scary injury 47 seconds into Sunday when he took an awkward fall while making a jump shot.
When he landed, he grabbed his knee and fell to the ground in pain. Brunson was unable to put pressure on his leg and was later taken to the locker room to be examined.
The first x-rays were negative and the diagnosis remained the same the following Monday. Brunson avoided a potentially serious injury and remains doubtful for tonight with a bruised left knee.
Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau described his injury as worrying, however, he felt much better after receiving the results of the x-rays.
“Every time someone falls like that, we worry. But then he felt a little better. He had X-rays. He was examined by the doctors, so the news is good,” said the Knicks coach.

Jalen Brunson injury added to Knicks
The Knicks are definitely a better team with Brunson on the court.
In his second season in New York, the 27-year-old established himself as a star, averaging 27.2 points and a career-high 6.6 assists per game. He made his first All-Star Game selection this season and took the Knicks to the second round of the playoffs last season, where they unfortunately lost to the Miami Heat.
The Knicks started the 2024 NBA season as one of the hottest teams in the league, but they have cooled off due to injuries to key stars.
The Knicks are currently without OG Anunoby and Julius Randle.
Currently at 36-25, the Knicks are the fourth seed in the East and remain in the NBA playoff mix.
