Tyler Kolek has been hitting the gym repeatedly this offseason, and the The New York Knicks The rookie offered a glimpse into a recent training session with his coach at the Ruane Friar Development Center.
Kolek was pictured doing various drills on the field with the player development coach Drew Ferguson in Providence. He spent much of the offseason in the area working on his overall skills ahead of his rookie campaign with the Knicks.
The 23-year-old has also worked with coaches Chris Brickley And Mike Atkinson at the Summit in New York. The field has hosted several notable players this summer, including LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Paolo Banchero, Aaron Gordon and Jaime Jaquez Jr.
Kolek was selected 34th overall by the Knicks after averaging 15.3 points, 7.7 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals on 38.8 percent from three-point range last season at Marquette. He became one of seven players in program history to be a consensus All-American.
The 6-foot-10 point guard signed a four-year, $9.09 million contract with the Knicks in July. He would receive $6.6 million guaranteed over the course of that deal, which is the highest amount in history for a second-round pick, surpassing the previous mark of $6.4 million (André Nembhard).
Kolek made his debut with the Knicks in the NBA Summer League, averaging 9.6 points, seven assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals on 35.6 percent shooting in five games. He had his best game on July 17 with 21 points, eight assists and four rebounds.
