Clippers host defensive slugfest in Minnesota
With last night’s 89-88 win at Minnesota, the Clippers did something they haven’t done all season: win a game without scoring 100 points. With 32 points on 12-of-26 shooting, Kawhi Leonard scored 36% of Los Angeles’ total points in the game. The Clippers’ defense held Minnesota to just 38.8 percent shooting from the field and 27.3 percent from three, managing to win while getting upset 56-40 by the bigger T-Wolves.

Yesterday’s victory was the second in a row for LAC, which also demolished Washington 140-115 at home on Friday. But the offensive struggles boded ill for a group that is just 6-5 in its last 11 consecutive games and 3-7 ATS in its last ten games.
The Clippers remain among the five best teams in the O classification (118.9, fifth) while moving up to 12th in the D classification (114.2) after last night’s impeccable defensive effort.
The only notable injury on the Clippers side is Russell Westbrook, who fractured his hand last Friday against the Wizards and remains out.
Bucks beat Chicago for fifth straight victory
The Bucks lost back-to-back games before the All-Star break, but came back from the break looking like a team on a mission. Milwaukee is a perfect 5-0 break after the All-Star, a stretch that began with a 112-107 win at Minnesota as a 4.5-point underdog and culminated with four straight double-digit victories.
The competition was not terribly tough: a 119-98 victory against the 76ers without Joel Embiid, two victories against Charlotte (123-85 and 111-99) and the 113-97 demolition of the Bulls Friday in Chicago, but it is all. about the only thing you can pick from Milwaukee’s performance.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has been particularly potent during the winning streak, averaging 31.4 PPG, including a 46-point outburst against Chicago.

Worryingly, Giannis landed on the injury report before Monday night’s game. His is listed as questionable due to tendonitis in his left Achilles tendon. He played 37 minutes against the Bulls on Friday.
Also included are Khris Middleton (14.8 PPG, 5.0 APG, 4.3 RPG), who is out with an ankle injury, and MarJon Beauchamp (4.4 PPG, 2.2 RPG), who is likely out with a back injury. on Milwaukee’s injury report.
