AVON, Ohio – A team of local investors, including former Cleveland Cavaliers CEO Len Komoroski, has purchased the lake erie crushers from current owner Tom Kramig.
The announcement was made at Lake Erie Crushers Stadium Thursday afternoon.
In addition to Komoroski, who will be president, investors include:
• Howley Foundation President Nick Howley, who will serve as team vice president.
• Vic Gregovits, a veteran of the sports front office who will serve as president.
• Nic Barlage, CEO of the Cavaliers, Rock Entertainment Group and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
• Mike Levy, a veteran front-office executive who previously worked for the Canton Charge and most recently worked for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Village.
• Mike Howley, son of Nick Howley and managing partner of Bratanahl Capital Partners.
In a statement, Komoroski congratulated Kramig, who has owned the team since 2015.
“We are proud to have the opportunity to usher in a new era of Crushers baseball,” he said. “Tom Kramig and his family have been fantastic managers of this franchise for nearly a decade, and we are excited to build on their legacy and continue to grow the impact of this team and this ballpark on the city of ‘Avon, Lorain County and the entire west side of Cleveland.
Komoroski added that the ownership team “is committed to investing in this team and this stadium, which we view as an incredible source of year-round entertainment and an important community asset with immense untapped potential.”
The Crushers will remain in the independent Frontier League, playing in the stadium just off Interstate 90.
Lake Erie opens its 48-game home schedule on Friday, May 10 against the Gateway Grizzlies.
