THE Lakers We may be in the last month of the season, but they look ready to give the team a boost. Gabe Vincent and Cam Reddish have missed significant time this season and both look set to return next week.

Officially, both men will be out on Saturday against the Warriors. But at Friday’s practice, Vincent was in uniform and although he didn’t participate in the game open to the public, head coach Darvin Ham provided a small update and ESPN’s Dave McMenamin also added some of his own reporting that should have Lakers fans feeling optimistic.

Firstly the the fact that there were no setbacks remains a positive point. Vincent has drawn many comparisons to fellow former Heat guard Kendrick Nunn, and right now the difference between the two is that Vincent has been able to continue his rehabilitation and hasn’t suffered any setbacks like Nunn.

At this point, if all that’s keeping him from getting back on the field is conditioning, things are going great. The Lakers will play on Saturday and Vincent will not participate in that contest, but with a game on Monday, a long break next week and another game on Friday, it would not be surprising to see him return at that time.

Likewise, Cam Reddish received his own positive update during practice on Friday. After Ham said he had been dealing with “extreme pain” earlier in the weekhe used the same adjective to describe his condition at the end of the week.

While every situation is different and must be handled differently, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Lakers hold the duo out until Friday, giving them one last long stretch to return to full strength for the team’s final run.

Fitting them in is going to be tough at this point in the season, but it’s going to be a good problem for the Lakers hopefully in the near future.
