KENS5’s Jeff Garcia recently reported that while LaMarcus Aldridge has spoken out against becoming a coach, he hasn’t closed the door on player development, particularly regarding the development of Victor Wembanyama.

Aldridge initially told Oddball Hoops that coaching was not part of his retirement plan. Partly because of his struggles as a player, such as when he reportedly got into trouble with Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich over late-game minutes.

Apparently, it was a Spurs fan who posted the tweet that sparked LaMarcus’ response to player development.

With so many great Spurs players still in San Antonio and accessible for player development, it stands to reason that Aldridge’s involvement could result in a “too many cooks in the kitchen” scenario.

What do you think, Pounders?

Wemby has Tim Duncan in the practice facility, David Robinson on speed dial and the winningest coach in NBA history at the helm. Does LaMarcus’ skill set help Wembanyama grow or distract the young phenom from everything he’s absorbing?
