New York Knicks star guard Jalen Brunson is listed as questionable for Tuesday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks. Many were surprised as he came off Sunday in their 107-98 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. He only played one minute and had to return to the locker room shortly after the start of the match.

Brunson has only missed four games this season and has been relatively active with the Knicks. The last time he was unable to play was in the Feb. 27 game against the New Orleans Pelicans. His absence from this game is not related to his latest injury against the Cavs.

Without their best player, the Knicks (36-25) are 1-3. This shows how important Brunson is to their success. Despite only logging a minute of action, New York managed to come out on top on Sunday.

Jalen Brunson injury update

Jalen Brunson was not cleared to return Sunday night because he went down with a bruised left knee. Initially, many thought it was a serious knee or leg injury because he had been on the ground for some time.

Knicks insider Ian Begley reported that the former All-Star did not suffer a major injury and is only expected to miss a few games. This will be an ideal situation for the team as the season comes to a close. New York is fourth in the Eastern Conference.

Brunson played in 57 games, averaging 27.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.6 assists. His numbers earned him selection as an All-Star for the first time.

What happened to Jalen Brunson?

The former Villanova star injured his knee 40 seconds into the game. A mid-range floppy play was called for him, and he received the ball with his elbow. As he rose to shoot, his legs flailed and Brunson immediately grabbed his left knee to take him down.

The star limped on one leg and fell. Brunson remained on the floor for some time until a timeout was taken and he was escorted to the locker room.

It was a non-contact injury and fans are hoping to see him back on the field.
