With a month and a half to go until the start of the new NBA season, NBA teams are putting the finishing touches on their rosters as they prepare for training camp. Golden State Warriors added De’Antony Melton, Buddy Hield and Kyle Anderson to their roster this summer, while Klay Thompson opted to join the Dallas Mavericks in free agency.

The Warriors also tried to sign two different All-Stars this summer, attempting to draft Paul George and Lauri Markkanen, respectively. Unfortunately for Golden State, neither of those attempts were successful. However, management still has plenty of trade assets at their disposal, should they find another star that makes sense next to Steph Curry.

According to Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report:LeBron James remains one of the most likely players to fit Steve Kerr’s team. However, there doesn’t seem to be a viable solution to bring him to the Bay Area. Of course, everything is subject to change in the NBA, and if the Los Angeles Lakers struggle to get the season off to a good start, the Warriors could be looking to make a potential deal.

“THE Golden State Warriors “The Lakers already tried to make a trade for James last offseason and shouldn’t completely abandon the idea. We got a James-Stephen Curry duo in this summer’s Olympics, and (surprise) the two worked together wonderfully,” Swartz wrote. “If the Lakers are around .500 this season, the Warriors should at least make another call to assess James’ availability, especially if Los Angeles is concerned he could leave as a free agent in the summer of 2025.”

Pairing LeBron with Curry and Draymond Green for their final years in the NBA makes perfect sense. They are all future Hall of Famers and excel at what they bring to a rotation. However, given LeBron’s foundation in Los Angeles and what it would take to pry him away from the Lakers, it’s hard to imagine a deal becoming a reality.

Still, the Warriors will likely continue to look at the trade market and bring in another star to pair with Curry as soon as possible.
