Former Reading High School star Lonnie Walker IV has agreed to a one-year contract with the Boston Celtics, according to a report from ESPN.
Walker’s agent, George S. Langberg of GSL Sports Group, told ESPN Wednesday night that Walker has signed with the Celtics.
Walker, 25, averaged 9.7 points per game and shot 38 percent from three-point range in 58 games for Brooklyn last season.
In 2017, Walker led Reading High to its first state basketball championship with a 64-60 victory over Pine-Richland. He scored 22 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three assists in the game.
He was the top basketball player in Pennsylvania his senior year and a McDonald’s High School All-American.
He then played one year at the University of Miami before the San Antonio Spurs selected him in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft with the 18th pick.
At Miami, he was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Freshman team.
He played for the Spurs from 2018 to 2022, then with the Los Angeles Lakers for one season before joining Brooklyn last year.
