Among those who believe James does not impose the same level of fear as Jordan during his time in the league include Shaquille O’Neal and Mario Chalmers. In an article from Andrew Gould for The Spun:

“So I heard players say, including myself, that I was afraid of Mike,” O’Neal said. “I heard players of your generation say they feared Kobe. I’ve never actually heard a player say he feared LeBron.

Chalmers chimed in by saying that James’ lack of fear was not an insult to the Lakers star. “I just think at the end of the day, ‘Bron went through so much that he wanted to be loved,” the former Miami Heat guard added.

As of now, James has not responded to what O’Neal and Chalmers said. Nonetheless, the King’s play has been talked about throughout his long career, with or without opponents fearing him on the field.
