The Chicago Bulls I can’t give Zach LaVine and his 3-year contract worth $138 million. They are clearly seeks to rebuildand LaVine no longer appears to be part of Chicago’s future plans.
The Los Angeles Lakers desperately need a third-star caliber player to maximize their potential in the final years of LeBron James’ NBA career. Anthony Davis is still there, but the duo hasn’t been enough since winning the 2020 bubble championship.
LaVine could be that guy who gives the Lakers the extra star power needed to help them turn the corner, but at what price?? The fact that the Bulls I’ve been trying to move LaVine all summer with no success. lets potential suitors know what the rest of the league thinks of him and his contract.

The Lakers need an impact player almost as much as Chicago wants to get him. If the Lakers are willing to part with him for less, both teams could come out ahead.
The problem is that the Lakers would have to cut their roster to make the money work, and at this point in the offseason it would be difficult to find rotation-level players who could Filling the gap in minimum contracts.
If acquiring LaVine means Los Angeles is giving back three of the following players: Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, Jared Vanderbilt, D’Angelo Russell and Gabe Vincent, does it really make sense for the Lakers to pull the trigger?
For the trade to be worthwhile for the Lakers, the Bulls also need to include draft compensation. If that were the case, Los Angeles might feel more comfortable letting go of a few talented young players. They could then bundle the picks with the draft capital they already have to fill out the rest of the roster via lower-level trades.
