That of Luka Doncic A 30+ point triple-double streak ended Monday night at the United Center when the Chicago Bulls hosted them. However, that didn’t stop him from posting a 27-point triple-double, as the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Bulls 127-92 to maintain eighth place in the West. The game was not without its share of drama. Doncic was angry at the referee for a non-call and made it known with an expletive-filled taunt.

With 6:09 left in the fourth quarter, Doncic hit the bench as his Mavs teammates looked on as he launched into a rant. The visitors had a healthy lead of 111-78 when the goaltender was replaced. He let out a string of NSFW expletives shortly after.

In terms of the match, Dallas exerted all its efforts to record a well-deserved victory. Daniel Gafford added 20 points and seven rebounds while Derek Lively II came off the bench to score 22 points. The Bulls failed to make substantial contributions, with Onuralp Bitim leading the scorer with 17 points. DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic had quiet evenings with 13 points each.

Ahead of the clash between the two teams, Luka Doncic’s torrid form earned him the Western Conference Player of the Week. The Slovenian averaged 37.7 points, 10.3 rebounds and 10.7 assists in week 20, as he broke records. Overall, he put up 34.6 points, 9.1 rebounds and 9.9 assists to help the Dallas Mavericks right the ship as they look to finish above the eighth seed they are placed in.

DeMar DeRozan had a stretch of games that saw him dominate the fourth quarter with his mid-range sniper. The forward averaged 29.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists, helping the Bulls finish with a 3-1 streak in Week 20.

The Bulls continue to hold on to ninth place and are still aiming to reach the elusive .500 mark. They are 31-34 with their recent loss to the Mavs. The latter are only one victory ahead of the LA Lakers and are one victory behind the Phoenix Suns, sixth.

Next up, Luka Doncic and Dallas have a formidable three-game challenge that will see them take on the Golden State Warriors, OKC Thunder and Denver Nuggets. The OKC contest will be played away while the other two will be home games.
